This is a family of six—a father, a mother, and four children, all at different stages of their education.
Both parents are living with HIV. The father contracted the illness following a blood transfusion at a hospital, and it was later transmitted to the mother. They are currently receiving treatment through state-supported healthcare.
The family’s monthly expenses for utilities and education amount to approximately 2,300 Egyptian pounds, in addition to their basic living needs.
They own an older, standard washing machine; however, due to the mother’s health condition, she is unable to manage handwashing, which adds to the daily challenges the family faces.
