Fatma Mohamed
This is a household of four women — an elderly mother, her divorced daughter, and two young granddaughters — living in a structurally unsafe home in Jabal El Teir, Samalout, El Minya. The husband left the household after remarrying and relocating to another village, providing no financial support and maintaining no contact with either his wife or daughter. The family has been left entirely without male support or any documented income.
The home is built from mud, stones, and weak blocks, and is considered at serious risk of collapse. The ceiling is extremely low and structurally unsound, and the overall living space is very small, with a basic kitchen and bathroom in close proximity. The family sleeps on the floor as they have no beds. Whenever it rains, they are forced to evacuate and take shelter with neighbours out of fear the structure will not hold.
The village is situated in a mountainous area, which likely limits access to employment, services, and support networks.
