Om Kareem

Om Kareem is a mother managing alone while her husband is incarcerated. She is solely responsible for the care of her children, with no financial support and no secondary income source documented.
The family's living conditions are critically inadequate. Their home has no ceiling, leaving them fully exposed to insects and the elements. Om Kareem describes spending nights awake, holding her children close to keep them covered and safe. The children have no footwear and have not received new clothing in years, relying entirely on donated items.
Food insecurity is severe. The family regularly goes to bed without dinner, and the last time they ate meat was approximately five to six months ago. Whatever income Om Kareem manages to obtain is spent entirely on food, leaving nothing for clothing, shoes, or basic household needs.
None of the children are currently enrolled in school, as Om Kareem cannot meet even their most basic daily needs, let alone education-related costs.
